Jessie Rosenberger began dancing at the age of 13 studying ballet and jazz and was an active member of the Tyler Civic Ballet (2002 -2003). Since then, Jessie has studied under artists such as Tena Scalco Vogel (Ft. Worth Ballet), Sarah Gamblin (BeBe Miller Company), Shelley Padilla (Colorado Ballet) and Melissa Young (Dallas Black Dance Theater). In 2010 and 2011, Jessica traveled to New York City for The Summit dance teacher convention . She has attended summer workshops with Ballet Austin and artists such as Jill Sigman (ThinkDance) and Amanda Edge (New York City Ballet).
Jessie was introduced to the world of modern dance while attending Kilgore College. There she studied different styles of modern including Graham and Cunningham. While at Kilgore, Jessie was a member and officer of the world famous Rangerettes, America’s first dance and drill team. With the Rangerettes, she traveled to Washington D.C. to perform for the Presidential Black Tie and Boot’s Ball.
Continuing her education at Texas Woman’s University, Jessie has studied techniques such as Horton, release and contact improvisation. Jessie was awarded the Anne Schley Duggan Outstanding Senior Award and graduated with honors in 2009 with her Bachelor of Arts in Dance.
Jessie danced in the Moscow Ballet’s Nutcracker performance in Kilgore, TX (2002), was a member of the modern dance company, Out On A Limb (2007-2009), and was a guest performer with Momentum Dance Lab in Knoxville, TN (2012). Jessie has taught dance since 2004 in the DFW and is a 500hr certified yoga teacher and held a residency at the University of Texas in Dallas (2013). She is the founder and artistic director of Simple Sparrow Dance Company, presenting concerts since 2010 in the DFW area and receiving wonderful reviews in both the Dallas Morning News and Theater Jones.
