McKenna Marie Airhart began her dance training in Longview, TX under her mother, Tena Scalco Vogel (Ft. Worth Ballet), at the age of five. In addition to studying with her mother, she has also studied under Pat George Mitchell (Longview Ballet Theatre), Amanda Edge (New York City Ballet), and Sarah Gamblin (BeBe Miller Company). She has extensive training in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, and tap. While living in Longview, she was a member of the Tyler Civic Ballet and participated in numerous performances all across East Texas. Mrs. Airhart got the wonderful opportunity of performing with the Moscow Ballet traveling company in 2002. In 2007, McKenna was picked to be a member of the world famous Kilgore College Rangerettes; while a Rangerette McKenna was able to perform at the Texas Governor’s Black Tie and Boots Ball in Washington, DC. After Rangerettes, McKenna moved to Denton, TX to further her dance career. McKenna continues to live in Denton with her husband Drew, and uses dance daily as a way to not only express herself, but influence those around her.
Christian Bergin has been dancing since the age of 10 in Lewisville, TX. Christian has studied ballet, jazz, tap, modern, contemporary, hip hop and musical theater under some of the most qualified instructors in the area. Christian’s accomplishments in his dance career so far include: Mr. Odyssey Dallas, Mr. Legacy Dallas, and Mr. Legacy at Legacy National Dance Championships in Orlando, Fl. Christian has had the opportunity to receive instruction from Jason Parsons, Grace Buckley, Jakob Karr, and other big names in the dance industry. Christian is currently a senior at New Tech High @ Coppell in Coppell, TX. Christian is looking forward to earning is BFA of dance in college, and hopes to later attend medical school to become a doctor.
Katrina Brown has trained with numerous, great instructors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area as well as performing and training with the Burklyn Ballet Theatre in Vermont for five years. She has performed in ballets such as Le Corsaire and Gaite Parisienne, as well as being Clara and The Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. As a competitive dancer for 10 years Katrina has been the recipient of numerous titles and first place awards for both solo and ensemble performances. These awards have been on the regional and national level and some have been for her original choreography. Katrina has also been awarded scholarships and asked to perform in prestigious shows such as Carnival in Los Angeles, CA, and “Kidz Roc” in Branson, MO. She is now furthering her training as a freshman at Texas Woman’s University as a Dance Studies major.
Lauren Daniels graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She has attended numerous summer intensives including Debbie Allen, Joffrey Ballet, Point Park, New York Baroque, and Bates Dance Festival.
Lauren has been fortunate to work with great choreographers such as Desmond Richardson, Dwight Rhoden, Catherine Turocy, Robert Battle, Jessica Lang, Debra McWaters, Edmond Niles, Bebe Miller, and Kihyoung Choi.
She spent several seasons with Events in Motion “Millennium Dancers” and has performed all over the DFW metroplex. As a part of Five Star Entertainment Company, Lauren danced for the former president George W. Bush and former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani. She will also make an appearance with the 8 & 1 Dance Company this Fall.
Lauren received her BFA in Dance Performance from the University of North Texas. Currently, Lauren is a dance instructor and is excited to become a part of the Simple Sparrow family.
Heather Gall graduated with a BA in Dance and a minor in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University in May of 2010. She is trained in modern, ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, pointe, and hip hop and is currently teaching at Dana’s Studio of Dance Southlake, Next Step Dance Performing Arts Center, and Dana’s Studio of Dance Coppell. She has studied under professors such as Jordan Fuchs, John Dixon, Sarah Gamblin, and Mary Williford-Shade, and she has taken workshops from guest artists such as Anthony Russo, Jill Sigman, John Giffin, and K.J. Holmes. She continues her dance education by attending annual conventions such as Nuvo, Adrenaline, Jump, The Beat, and West Coast Dance Explosion. Heather looks forward to continuing her performances with Simple Sparrow Dance Company, and would like to venture into producing her own concert series. Her ultimate goal in teaching is to share her love of dance, quality technique, and exciting choreography through dance basics and anatomical fundamentals in a positive atmosphere.
Macy Loucks began dancing at the age of 7 in Longview, TX. There she studied under Tena Scalco Vogel (Ft. Worth Ballet), Pat George Mitchell (Longview Ballet Theatre) and various jazz and tap instructors. Macy was a member of the award winning competition team, Dance Fusion, and was awarded Best Choreography for her solo competition piece. Macy was a member of the Tyler Civic Ballet Company and was pleased to perform with the Moscow Ballet in 2002 during their tour of the Nutcracker in Kilgore, TX. Macy lives in Denton with her husband, Jared, and their beautiful daughter, Joy.
Nicole Jordan began dancing in her teens and has never stopped since. She furthered her studies in ballet, modern and jazz at both Collin County (2002-2003) and Brookhaven colleges (2004-2007) during their summer programs and studied jazz and dance appreciation at Tarrant County College (2010). Nicole was a founding member of Ingredients Professional Training Program (2007) and traveled with Dance Revolution Dance Convention as a performer and assistant teacher (2007). In 2010 and 2011, Nicole traveled to New York City for the Dance Teacher Summit conference receiving training in ballet, contemporary, competition choreography, business management and marketing just to name a few.
Teaching since 2002, Nicole has over 10 years of teaching experience and has worked with students from age two through adult. She is an award winning choreographer and has taught for studios in Lewisville, Tx and Keller, Tx choreographing for spring and Christmas recitals as well as competitions. Nicole has performed in numerous musicals in the DFW area including Jesus Christ Super Star (2002), Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat (2003), A Christmas Carol (2009,2010) and Truthical, the Musical (2011). When Nicole is not teaching or dancing you can find her as a hairstylist at Destiny Salon in Flower Mound. She is excited to be a part of the Simple Sparrow family and would like the thank her husband, Oscar, for all his love and support.
